BWPA Summer Symposium 2020

The next Summer Symposium will be 5-7 May 2020

Richmond Upon Thames, UK

The Summer event is probably one of the very few occasions that European pulp and papermakers can network and socialise without the pressure of negotiations. It’s a great chance to meet up before the Summer break and touch base with what’s happening on the global market.

The 2020 programme will be announced soon but James Kynge will be back by popular request with a unique insight into China and Hawkins Wright will deliver the Outlook for Market Pulp.

The 2019 programme:

Global Economics: What next?

Vicky Pryce, Chief Economic Advisor at the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).

China – Where will the slowdown hurt most?

James Kynge, Emerging Markets Editor and Associate Editor, the Financial Times.

NGOs & Retailers – Just plastic in their sights or are they coming back for P&B?

Paul Foulkes Arellano, Precipice Design, A Plastic Planet, Sustainable Design Alliance.

Due to popular demand, we will be returning to The Richmond Hill Hotel, Richmond, Surrey in 2020. The hotel is within easy reach of Heathrow airport and central London.

There will be meetings for BWPA members on Tuesday afternoon, 5th May and all our guests are invited to join us on Tuesday evening for dinner at the hotel.

Wednesday morning will begin with a choice of leisure activities (or the option to visit Kew Gardens which is within easy reach).

The Symposium on Wednesday afternoon will take place at the Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club, followed by dinner. Watch this space for further details.
